PICKLEBALLBC (PBC), founded in March 2017, is dedicated to the growth, development, promotion and enjoyment of pickleball. We encourage people of all ages and skill levels to experience pickleball and discover the enjoyment of friendship and participation in an active lifestyle. PBC signed an affiliation agreement with Pickleball Canada (PCO) in November 2018 and became a registered not-for-profit society early 2019 and has since gained Provincial Sport Status (PSO) early 2021. In conjunction with the Pickleball Canada affiliation PBC is now the B.C. Provincial governing body for pickleball.
BC based pickleball Clubs are encouraged to affiliate with PICKLEBALLBC and Pickleball Canada for the purposes of pickleball promotion and cooperation in BC and Canada at all levels. Non affiliated players are encouraged to join PBC as an individual member.

There are two types of agreements with Clubs based on the following attributes, with differing benefits and policies:
- "Affiliated" Agreement where a Club is dedicated to pickleball and ALL members must join PBC & PCO. With that 100% membership criteria comes an insurance policy/coverage including a D&O liability component
- "Associated" Agreement for multi-sport entities like Hollyburn Country Club and the North Shore Winter Club in Vancouver. Membership requirements are not the same since PBC and PCO membership are not required but encouraged, and there is no D&O insurance offered to the Associated Club
There is a simple process to apply to affiliate with PBC:
- Enter into an Affiliated or Associated agreement (dedicated pickleball or multi-sport club described above) with PBC by signing PBC's standard MoU - email [email protected] for more information
- Register and establish an identity within the Pickleball Canada National System (PCNS) - a full member management software package - email [email protected] for more information
- Join as an un-affiliated club member here

- Grant Programs including Youth Grants to introduce pickleball to schools or youth groups throughout the Province, and our Community Grant Program for Clubs order to assist them in the pickleball needs of their communities
- Monthly Newsletters bringing you up to date on news highlights and changes relevant in the pickleball community
- Access to: introductory clinics for new participants and skill upgrading clinics for developing players; programs for the development of coaches, referees and training resources for all levels of play; and a process of player rating that is consistent throughout B.C. and across Canada.

- Membership in an organization: that is focused on the development of the sport with the goal of being a provincially recognized sport organization and the capacity to access provincial sports funding; that supports and guides municipalities in infrastructure development; that actively encourages tournament infrastructure; and in an organization interested in making BC a leader in Canadian pickleball.
