August 29th 2025, 8 AM PDT, Vancouver, BC—Coming Spring 2026, in collaboration with BC’s winning professional MLP Las Vegas Night Owls coach and victorious PPA Tour competitor Steve Deakin, The Nest will open its 98,000-square-foot indoor sports facility. This will be the largest indoor pickleball center and sports facility in British Columbia, located adjacent to Tsawwassen Mills Shopping Centre, Tsawwassen BC.

As announced in their Press Release, The Nest will offer elite coaching, immersive clinics, inclusive leagues, and social play sessions for athletes of all levels. “Pickleball players are constantly limited by the lack of high-quality courts,” said Deakin.
“The Nest will be a game-changer, providing a safe, well maintained space to play, rain or shine, day or night.”

“We’
re honoured to collaborate with Tsawwassen First Nation and Tsawwassen Mills in building a space where the athletic community can thrive,” said founding partner Lorne Loiselle. “With its state-of-the-art facilities and extensive programming, The Nest will redefine the pickleball and volleyball experience in Canada.”

“There are new pickleball courts being built across BC as they are very much needed. Some by our 101 Associated and Affiliated clubs such as the wonderful complex in Vernon, where we just held our very successful Provincial Championships. Some with municipality partnerships (e.g., Ambleside), some with private funding in retail store facilities like IPOP, and some purpose-built from scratch such as The Nest ,” says David Snell, President of Pickleball BC Association (“PBCA”).

David went on to say, “Moreover, at many of these new pickleball facilities, players at all levels can benefit by developing their skills either for recreational play or more competitive endeavours. High-level players who compete at Provincial and Canadian National tournaments can take advantage of these kinds of new facilities. For example, many of our BC players who were successful at the Vernon BC Provincial Championships, went on to win at the Canadian National Championships in Winnipeg—and also our very first BC Provincial Team BC winning Gold against 5 other provinces who competed in the daylong event. This also supports PBCA’s provincial mission of being dedicated to the growth, development, promotion, and enjoyment of pickleball in BC.”

The Facility
  • 14 climate-controlled (air and heat with air exchangers) indoor pickleball courts with spacious 8–10-foot perimeters for safe movement
  • Class 1 professional lighting and 30-foot ceiling heights for optimal visibility and gameplay
  • Competition-grade nets and court dividers to ensure uninterrupted matches
  • Access to 14 additional pickleball courts via flexible volleyball space, enabling a total of 28 courts for major tournaments;
  • Outdoor surface courts in dual colours for enhanced ball tracking; and
  • 5,500 sq ft amenities space in 98,000 sq ft total.

Also to support the growing pickleball community, Pickleball Depot will open a retail outlet inside The Nest, offering premium gear and equipment.
